“Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.”
—Niels Bohr (1885–1962), Noble Prize-winning physicist
What quantum physics is discovering is just as life changing as realizing that the world is not flat, or that we can use aerodynamics to fly. Both gave us more freedom once we accepted them.
One of the most profound discoveries is the fact that everything is made of energy. When physicists probe deeply into matter, they’re finding there is NOTHING SOLID TO MATTER. It is made up of smaller and smaller subatomic particles (quarks, leptons, bosons, neutrinos, and more) and a tremendous amount of empty space.
They’ve also discovered that empty space is not actually empty. It’s teaming with energy! Even a vacuum is packed with energy. This is the definition of matter from Science.NASA.gov: “The quantum theory of matter says ‘empty space’ is actually full of temporary (‘virtual’) particles that continually form and then disappear.”
And this is what we’re made of!!! This is what EVERYTHING is made of!! So what does that mean for us? I know that it doesn’t “appear” to be true – but how can we use this life-altering information to create amazing lives?
